Excelsior College’s Blaine Bettinger Publishes New Book on Genetic Genealogy
The National Genealogical Society (NGS) recently announced the arrival of the first workbook for genetic genealogists, Genetic Genealogy in Practice, written by Excelsior College’s Genetic Genealogy instructor Blaine Bettinger, PhD, JD, and co-authored by Debbie Parker Wayne, CG®, CGLSM.
Genetic genealogy is a continually-evolving discipline, opening up pathways in genealogy cases where traditional research has fallen short. Dr. Bettinger and Ms. Wayne are recognized leaders in the field, with their expertise spanning a wide range of topics, including the collection, analyzation, and application of DNA testing, the limitations and benefits of DNA testing, using third-party tools to maximize the results of genetic testing, ethics, the Genealogical Proof Standard, and more.
In addition to his 15-week, online Genetic Genealogy course, only available through Excelsior College, Dr. Bettinger frequently gives talks and webinars to educate others about the use of DNA to help answer questions about their ancestry. He is also the author of the long-running blog, “The Genetic Genealogist” and the ebook, I Have the Results of My Genetic Genealogy Test, Now What?
